Balfour Mews - Mayfair
The demolition of 2 and 4 Balfour Mews in London made way for a privately owned 10,000sq ft residential home to be built in its place.
The project was far from straightforward, working to confined spaces, close to neighbours, traffic and pedestrians. The aim was to complete a full internal strip-out and façade retention to allow the building contractors to complete the construction of the property. Asbestos had already been taken into account, and upon proof of removal, Aspect Four were able to commence work.
Demolition was carried out by hand and machine, working around the temporary works and propping needed for the façade retention. All demolition arisings had to be removed from site in stages so as not to block roads, create unnecessary traffic or disrupt pedestrian access.
