Dismantling and Removal of Thyssen Henschel Spain Mark 4 and Mark 4a tunnel bridges and ancillary components.
Scope of Works:
- Set up on site creating our own exclusion zone within Volker Fitzpatrick’s site area including arranging for plant and equipment to be delivered.
- Sealing the passenger tunnels during soft strip and rubbish removal process to avoid insulation and other material blowing onto airfield.
- Removal all salvage material and waste from site.
Aspect Four Demolition was invited by Gatwick Airport to dismantle and remove out-dated walkways in time for the arrival of brand new ones. This task was part of a passenger improvement project for the airport.
A Komatsu PC210LC-8 dismantled the walkways and all the works had been undertaken by trained and qualified CCDO Operatives with a CCDO trained and competent Supervisor in attendance at all times.
ThyyssenKrupp (the makers of the walkways) had advised aspect Four Demolition, that no asbestos material will be present. Thankfully, in any event Aspect Fours’ operatives are trained to identify asbestos which if found would have been removed and disposed of in a controlled manner, according the HSE guidance and adhering to all relevant legislation.
The job was completed within 10 days. The removal of all material on site meant the area was left clear and tidy much to the satisfaction of Gatwick Airport.
